Trafi (Finnish Transport Safety Agency) has signed a contract with KINE Robot Solutions Ltd for two option years of vessel remote sulphur monitoring service for Finnish coastal sea areas. The contract starts on January 1st 2018 and extends until end of 2019.

AIRNOW is online sulphur monitoring service which sends measured and analysed compliance monitoring reports from sea to shore. Service is continuous, automatic and real time.

The AIRNOW service is created to help authorities and ports to follow the new air pollution rules at sea set by the International Maritime Organization (IMO). AIRNOW enables high hit-rate for sulphur compliance inspections and therefore Port Authority actions can be focused on non-compliant vessels only.

Remote operating Sniffer Stations record the sulphur emissions of passing sea vessels in motion. Gathered data is processed through the AIRNOW algorithms and presented to users through web-based user interface. AIRNOW has proven track record and high reliability of more than 40000 recordings made in Baltic Sea areas since 2016.
